What is Wellapy?

It supports your health journey with nutrition, movement, and behavior tools in a compassionate, judgment‑free space. Start small, build confidence, and see progress that lasts.

Who is Wellapy for?

Adults living with overweight or obesity who are being cared for by a licensed healthcare professional in France. Eligibility and prescription are determined by the prescriber.
Is Wellapy a medical device?

Yes. Wellapy is a regulated medical device software (DTx) with CE‑marking. Always use under the guidance of a qualified healthcare professional.
Does Wellapy replace my doctor or dietitian?

No. Wellapy complements clinical care. It supports self-management between visits and reinforces your clinician's treatment plan.

Eligibility and Indication

Who can be prescribed Wellapy?

Eligibility is determined by the prescriber based on clinical judgment and reimbursement criteria. Typical candidates are adults with elevated BMI and weight‑related risks who can engage with a structured digital program.

  • who are 18 years or older
  • who do not yet have any advanced concomitant diseases
  • who are accompanied by a doctor or healthcare professional
  • who are physically and mentally capable of carrying out obesity treatment independently
Are there contraindications?

Contraindications and precautions are at the prescriber's discretion. Situations where digital therapy may be unsuitable include pregnancy, type 1 diabetes, hypothyroidism, hypofunction (and other pituitary disorders), and Cushing's syndrome. Clinicians should evaluate each case individually. The therapy is intended for patients who have a smartphone.

 

Is Wellapy compatible with GLP‑1 or other anti‑obesity medications?

Yes. Wellapy can be used alongside pharmacotherapy. The program adapts goals and education to support comprehensive management.

Prescription, access, costs and reimbursement

How do patients get Wellapy?

A licensed healthcare professional prescribes Wellapy and initiates activation via AppThera. The patient receives instructions by SMS (or e-mail) to download the mobile app and create an account.

What is AppThera and why is it used?

AppThera is a French digital prescription and distribution platform that enables secure e‑prescription, onboarding, and integrated reimbursement process (if applicable)

What are the steps for clinicians to prescribe?

  2. Search and select “Wellapy”
  3. Enter patient details and eligibility
  4. Confirm prescription duration
  5. Send activation link to the patient

How long does access last? Can it be renewed?

Initial access is set by the prescriber and typically corresponds to a first period of 3 months. Renewals are at clinician discretion based on patient benefit and adherence.
Is Wellapy reimbursed in France?

Coverage depends on the current status of national (or regional) reimbursement programs and contracts. Your prescriber will inform you whether your course is reimbursed

How do I get onboarded as a prescriber?

Log in to AppThera.fr, complete the identity verification and set up your account. From there, you will be able to find Wellapy among the listed digital therapies and prescribe it to your patients with a single click.

Is patients data visible to me?

What are good follow-up intervals?

Common patterns include a follow-up 4 weeks after starting, then every 2–3 months depending on patient needs. High-risk or low-adherence patients may benefit from closer follow-up.
How do renewals or discontinuations work?

At the end of the prescription period, assess benefit and adherence. Renew if beneficial, pause for non-adherence, or discontinue if clinically appropriate.
Does Wellapy integrate with EHRs?
